I just want to say how brilliant penny was around the dinner table. She is 7 months now and its amazing the change from the shark tooth pup to this big girl. I know she is still a pup but she was so well behaved and didnt need to be kept behind the baby gate (tbh i thought i would need to). She is still daft as a brush at times but today i was so proud if her. Go Penny
What a good little girl , its lovely when they can join in isn't it ? Our Christmas lunch was the usual collaboration between me and my daughter who lives over the road from me , there were quite a few of us but Nelly was invited too , and like Penny , she was also a good girl x
I was most surprised at how good my three reprobates were. They make us so very proud sometimes don't they?

We had four dogs over for Christmas lunch with 8 adults. The only slight mishap was when Benson was caught slowly dragging the tinfoil of the turkey! Apparently, all you could see from the dining area was the tinfoil slowly disappearing! Gotta love a chocolate...
Well done, Penny I put Stanleys basket next to my chair. Ugh, big mistake. I ended up trying to eat my dinner with one hand while controlling a frustrated/stressed dog with the other. He refused to settle allllll morning at mams. Cried, jumped at the door, was panting. As soon as everyone sat down after lunch to chill he got in between me and OH and went to sleep. I think he likes knowing his family is all together (and he's not missing out on anything )
We also had a really relaxing Christmas dinner this year. Kitchen door left wide open with Turkey remaining untouched on table. Any food dropped on floor was not devoured within seconds and no wine glasses were sent hurtling across the room from an enthusiastic wagging tail. Such a great idea to leave dog fast asleep at home while we popped over to have dinner with family
Coco guarded our turkey while it was resting in the kitchen. Thanks to him, no-one nipped in an stole it He did get a few little pieces as a reward for doing such a good job. He doesn't beg at the dinner table, he just lies down and keeps it in sight, He knows when we've finished eating though - that's when he starts with the staring, the pacing, the drooling - he wants the plates to go off to the kitchen ASAP in case there's any scraps that need dealing with.
Harley was brilliant as always. She had her dinner then led on her bed until we all finished. It was quite hectic with 7 adults, but she done really well For tea there was 9 adults and Harley and myself sat on her bed and I hand fed her from my plate (some turkey and cold meats). She ignored everyone else, even when my mum dropped her cocktail sausages
Cassie was brilliant yesterday, took herself to bed and remained there while we ate (boundary games are brilliant !) and didn't bother anyone eating tea/cakes on their laps. So very pleased with her! But today, ha ha, she found herself alone in the kitchen where some kind soul had left a piece of particularly ripe Brie right on the edge of the worktop!!...I mean, what's a girl to do? Be rude not to, isn't that right? And cleaned the paper up too!
There is not enough space in this text box to list everything Monty has eaten over the last few days. Poor puppy parenting
Oh dear ..although Penny has behaved brilliant over xmas and today . She now thinks that every meal us turkey flavour with gravy. The pong is unbelievable. My son can't stop laughing at her trumpeting. Penny is even surprising herself with the noises lol. Gas mask would come in handy
Sophie (nearly 6 months) and Edie GSD have been really good too, visitors on the day including 18 month old granddaughter and their dog. No begging from the table ( well, not much), though there was a LOT of facewashing when they discovered granddaughter had a very tasty collection of gravy, veg and especially turkey around her mouth! Then yesterday to other daughters for tea, specially invited our dogs to meet their 3 little dogs (gulp). All went well!!! Littlest dog was afraid of sophie, who didn't take advantage but lay down in front of him, and gently licked her lips, then ignored him until he felt a bit more confident! He even sniffed her nose (and the other end!) at one point. I was so proud of her
Sky adopted her normal position on Christmas and Boxing Day - under the table nearest the oldest and youngest people - she worked it out from a very early age that she is more likely to get droppings . Red actually went to her day bed whilst we were eating both days . I wonder if this is because I always popped her in her crate when she was very young so we could eat uninterrupted. I did catch her licking a lager bottle that someone had put on the floor yesterday . Very happy with both dogs the last few days - they have both been brill .
