I originally read this article early in December but forgot to post it so some members might have read it already - better late than never though . How would you make the world better for our dogs? http://www.companionanimalpsychology.com/2017/12/how-to-make-world-better-for-dogs.html?m=1
I would make the world more dog friendly. There's so many places I can't take Stanley that he should be allowed to go. It means either I don't get to go or he has to stay behind
Particularly like the section by Vet Pete Wedderburn , breeding for health and not looks . Taking up another aspect , I do wish more landlords were sympathetic to dogs , instead of a blanket ban which can cause heart break for some . I read a really upsetting post on a local FB page , the family having to move out of their home because the landlord was selling it . Despite making every effort , they could not find a rental property where pets were allowed, unless they could find an enormous deposit , and yet their four young children were welcome .
Oh yes - breeding for health would be number 1. Followed by reinstating and enforcing the dog licence. I’d make it much like the driving licence. .
Like being able to take them to work! Once the initial excitement was over, both my dog and other colleagues could really benefit from an office dog, and he'd get so much extra stimulation and interaction.
Lots of great answers. I like the section by Christy Hoffman. Many people give up beloved pets due to financial hardship or forgo vet care due to cost - having greater access to services to support those in need would be beneficial to both pet and owner. And of course, treating dogs with kindness! I also agree with @JenBainbridge, if the world had more dog friendly places, then less dogs home alone for hours on end, and more people able to own dogs who could give them a great life. If I could bring Quinn to work with me, my world would be a better place
Yes! And we're going to the Harry Potter Studios in London this weekend and Stanley has to stay with my mam and dad. I wanted to dress him up as Dobby and if they questioned it say DOBBY IS A FREE ELF. But OH said no
