    Hello everyone,
Bella went to the vet to have her stitches out yesterday. The vet also took a blood sample to check her kidneys. If you remember, her numbers were slightly elevated prior to surgery to remove the mast cell tumor and we needed to check again. Results came back high normal again yesterday which isn’t normal on a younger dog. Creatinine was high normal and BUN normal. The vet then took a urine sample to look at the concentration and check for any infection. That all came back normal and he feels her kidneys are fine. This is something we will monitor but no big concern at this point. Strange thing is, my previous Labrador had the same issue. I worried myself sick over it for years. She lived to be 15. Therefore, I will remain positive. We have a great vet so I do trust his opinion.

As for the mast cell tumor, it is gone thank God. Bella will get a weekly rub down to check for any new ones. I recommend you do the same with yours at least every month or so. Bella loves this of course! She has been completely oblivious throughout this whole ordeal and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Labs are a lumpy bunch so it is a good idea to be familiar with their body. Catch it early and you are more likely to have a happy ending.

It is nice to finally feel sweet relief! My vet reminded me to enjoy Bella and that she is back to what she was prior to us finding the cancerous growth. He has an amazing bedside manner...I wish all the doctors in my life could be that way. Plus, he is easy on the eyes so that always helps too!

Thank you again for the great support! Thank you for listening and have a great week!

    Jenny

Lovely to read your post, your vet sounds very supportive, not just of Bella, but you too. I do hope you can take his advice to heart
