Hello lab owners and lovers out there!!

Bowie and I just recently joined this forum and have felt nothing but love, support and warm welcomes. I thought I'd share an excerpt from my blog post - things you'll only understand when you have a labrador! and celebrate the beautiful - sometimes amusing, annoying and baffling - relationship with your lab!

    Here are my ten favourites:

    1. The biting - How could this cute, soft little thing suddenly turn into a crocopup?

    2. The constant shedding ... 24/7, all year around!

    3. They will do anything for FOOD - even selling their soul :D
From the 'big eyes' stare (aka 'Puss in Boots') to dribbling in anticipation and devising such a devious plan to get that mouth-watering piece of chicken from the kitchen bench.

    4. What's the fascination with shoes?! ... and chewing in general really but shoes are the only thing we don't seem to get Bowie to stay away from, ohh... and kangaroo/wombat's poo!

    5. His hair haunts me everywhere ... even when he's never been to the place. I even get paranoid of drinking tea - I almost swallowed his hair a few times!

    6. Can I have my privacy please?
It's so cute to see Bowie follows me everywhere but now it's getting borderline stalking ;) He'll even wait for me outside the bathroom and sometimes he'll be like a ninja - you turn around and there he is!

    7. Zoomies one minute and snores the next
We still marvel at how Bowie can be so playful and having endless energy one minute and on his back snoring the next.

    8. Will chase anything that's around and moving

    9. Love water ... and rolling around in wet soils and muddy puddles arghhh...

    10. Last but not least, his smile just melts my heart
... and the love he's shown me through his many licks through my ups and down.

    What's yours?

    1. The sock thief - as soon as I take my socks off, she sneaks in, grabs it and disappears before I even realise
    2. The bathroom - no privacy here, she follows me in and sits by me! and if I'm in the bath she tries to jump in!
    3. The chair thief - she will bark at the frountdoor, one of us gets up and she pinches our seat and pretends to be asleep
    4. My bed - every night she runs upstairs and whilst I'm getting ready for Ged she lies on my half if the bed and promptly falls asleep and becomes a deadweigh

She is a cheeky but adoreable girl who I adore :inlove:

The Tail Wag - and the resulting grab for coffee mugs, wine glasses, and anything else unwisely left on the coffee table!!

Holly scores 9/10 as she's never been very interested in chasing things. She does, however, share the poo fixation, loves stealing slippers, and insists on greeting me out the shower.

One thing that drives me nuts is her insistence on finding exactly the right spot to poo. She can spent ten minutes walking to and fro across the back of the garden sniffing to find the right place. We have to watch so we can clear it up immediately. It seems to take forever on a cold rainy night.

FYI - since I wrote this post, Bowie has got my sandal from the laundry bench and decimated it!!
He must be feeling generous though, cause he left me with the right one intact and untouched

"You're not clean until you're Labrador clean" is a popular saying in this house. When you get out of the shower, there’s always a Lab tongue or three to help dry you off. And if you should have the audacity to use lotion, well, that won’t last long!

@Master Bowie and @sak69GR These are brilliant!

@Naya I’ve got two chair thieves as well. They prefer sofas so that they can sprawl, generally one on each. It can just be hard luck for me that I prefer sofas too!

Agreed. Not only does Harley insist on being in the bathroom with me, but the two cats too. I don't even know what this privacy thing is that people speak of...
