Oh, you're a bit of a trek from us then - I think of Staffordshire as Tamworth and Lichfield, right on my doorstep, but forget that it is such a big county.
There have been a few cases of Alabama rot on Cannock chase, hasn't there? It's such a scary disease.

I'm in Lisbon, Portugal. I think I am an odd one out  Noone close enough to go on dog walkies with.
I grew up in South Africa though, came to Portugal in the eighties.

Oh I’m always at Cannock chase, as I have a friend who lives just 15mins away, so I visit often. Actually this month.

I'll be in Cadiz in a few weeks for winter and spring and I've been known to drive further than Cadiz-Lisbon for a good dog walk. In fact, I'm doing precisely that on Sunday! :D

That is great Emily! I have been to Cadiz. So when Gaston comes home and as soon as he is fit for a good walk, we can get together ?
    That would be really nice!
    :D
Emily, sorry for the question but what does this mean on your description : Longest on the Forum without an actual dog
What dogs do you take on your dog walks ?

I'd be honoured to take a Gaston walk! :)

I joined the forum 1.5 years ago when I was researching what breed of dog I wanted for my next dog (long story as to why I'm not simply getting another Rottie). I did end up deciding on a Lab but now I've been rather SLOW to actually find my own dog. Understatement.

I've posted here on the forum a lot about my adventures in fostering as well well as my hunt for a breeder in the UK and have been teased a bit about my taking ages to make any decision. At one point I joked and said something like, "Well, maybe I'm going for the award of longest on the forum without an actual dog." And as if by magic, almost immediately below my avatar appeared that same phrase. And by 'magic', I actually mean @snowbunny . :D

Though I don't have a dog of my own now, I'm officially everyone's doggie auntie. I've had foster dogs in Spain and here in Germany and am a very enthusiastic dog-sitter and dog-walker for friends in both places. I also got to meet quite a few wonderful Forum dogs on my visit to the UK last fall. So even though I don't have my own dog, there always seems to be a dog to take for a walk! :)

Oh Emily. I have just spent most of the Saturday reading your and Tobys' rather Alfies' thread.
As someone said you are an amazingly generous and kind person. You not having a dog of your own is just a waste of a person such as yourself who has so much love for dogs in you.
You can always do the fostering anyway too.
Dogs deserve someone like you, don't deprive them and yourself of that. You should give it another chance, heart on sleeve and all.
Loved the thread, you have ~ 1000 likes from me on account of that amazingly good thread too.(Great story teller !)
I think you need a new black beast in your life, most of all, a black beast needs you. Pluck up the courage to go down that road again, you are a brave girl ! Time to love and commit again, I would say:fistbump:You go girl!

PS. Sorry if I am being inconvenient. As you know I am portuguese, so you have to cut us latins some slack on being passionate, though if I didn't know better, I would say you are really just one of us;)

I don’t think there are any strays in the UK either, are there? I mean there are no dogs just wandering the streets -any seen would certainly be taken to a vets to be scanned to f8nd the owner or to a dogs’ home.

    Hi Joy,
I think you may have the same issue as us in Portugal.
I was not aware of it being this bad though after googling the matter up
