I have been posting for about a week now, having discovered this amazing forum when we brought our new fur-child home, so here is our formal 'hi' and introduction.

We lost our first (and only) dog 7 years ago; a beautiful yellow lab named Benson. We finally took the plunge and are now so happy to be parents of little Maxx who is 12 weeks old. We brought him home 4 weeks ago today! I believe our old boy sent us a few messages of encouragement as my friend who is on face-book (we aren't) used to dog-sit Benson when we would go away. The day before we were due to bring Maxx home she received a face-book 'memory' which was a gorgeous photo of Benson playing in their backyard in 2010. The strange thing is normally face-book posts a memory of that very day, but it was and December the 'memory' was from some random date in January! [cue goosebumps]. Since then they have had another couple of 'memories' come through about Benson so we see this as a sign that he is approving of our decision to get another puppy.

Anyway I am rambling...we live in the Southern Suburbs of Sydney and whilst a bit sleep deprived, lacerated and sometimes ready to scream, we are so happy to be fur-parents again. Thanks to everyone who has helped with answers to questions and loads of encouragement :)

Welcome to you and Maxx from me and my tribe of three in Andorra: Willow who is a black girl, Shadow who is (perversely) a yellow boy and Luna (aka Squidge) who is a chocolate girl.

Our "Down Under" contingent grows stronger by the day :D

Hi from me and Bailey in Adelaide.:) I’ve responded to your ‘Kong’ thread. It’s a bit confusing, but did you say you’re getting a rubber Kong sent from overseas? They are freely available here-which is nice when so many other things aren’t:rolleyes:

Thanks BevE....I was being a bit lazy and seeing if there was a local online company that would deliver as we are a bit time-short with looking after Mr Maxx at the moment ;) and the nearest Pet warehouse is a bit of a drive.

Hi Maxx and Maxxs' Mum, from me and soon to arrive Gaston. We're in Portugal.

What are those big bowls Maxx is lying next to ?
If those are for feeding, I think I need new ones for Gaston (the ones I have fit in those 5 fold I'd say).

Thanks everyone for your lovely welcome. CMartin - the front bowl is his water bowl. It is very heavy so he doesn't constantly tip it over. The yellow one is his food bowl and I haven't really thought about the size. I must admit his kibble does look a bit small in there but he doesn't seem to mind :p. It is light so he enjoys carrying it around with him to remind us that he is STARVING and needs more food RIGHT NOW

You must be counting the days until little Gaston arrives :)
