we just got a 8 week old chocolate and he is a handful! Ahhhh the puppy stages! We tried to put him on a leash and he did not like it one bit! All he does is sit down and try not to move. We have tried to slowly introduce him to the leash and reward with treats but he doesn't understand the walk game. I see other pups walking on leashes and I was wondering if other pups do the same as mine? What ways help? I understand he is a baby and he isn't used to the leash and being controlled. Just trying to ease him into this as best I can. Also I put the harness on him and he freaks out and does rolly polly moves in the grass. I let him sniff the harness on the ground but then he grabs it and runs around so I have to take it away.

Hello and welcome .The monster lead ! Best thing to do is to put a collar and lead on him in the house and, under supervision , let him wander around trailing it behind him , but don't leave him unattended ! He is too young to be out and about mixing with other dogs as he needs his vaccination programme to be completed before he goes out, but you can carry him so that he can see the big wide world ! Everything is either a game or a scary monster when they are babies, but try the collar and lead indoors , maybe the harness too, but only for a couple of minutes at a time and a massive fuss for him !

Great idea! The big wide world! We just stayed in my driveway because of that reason. No interaction with others and still needs his last two shots. I will try that!

Some people even pop their pups in a backpack , so that they can see that big wide world in safety !!
