Let me preference this by saying this is our first dog. We have a 9 week old lab. We got him when he was 6 weeks. He's crate trained during the days for about 2 hours at a time and then is out for 30 min to an hour. He plays outside or gets a 5 min walk at night. Been working on obedience training 10 minutes a day. The last couple of days he has gotten more aggressive. He has started barking for now reason and started to growl a little bit. Of course he is biting everything in site, but i know that is normal. I was just outside with him and he went crazy running around in circles and then dived under a bench! Is this all normal?
It's completely normal, we call it Zoomies Bowie used to do that to expel out all those energy and excitement!
It all sounds completely normal. The barking might be something you want to work on if it bothers you, but the rest just sounds like normal puppy exuberance, not aggression.
Yes, it’s very normal Lab puppy behaviour. Anyone who says different has not had a Lab puppy! He will grow out of it, meanwhile be more determined than he is (and that’s very determined!) that he will bite toys and not you. The growling is all play. The barking is him saying ‘play with me, play with me!, if you see two Labs playing it’s all teeth and noise. Have a puppy toy on every shelf and in every pocket to put in his mouth. Wear skinny jeans and tight sleeves. Have baby gates so that you can withdraw your attention for a short time if he gets really hyper. Here is the best advice.
