Kevin was up in the early hours of Sunday morning having vomited some food and a bit of bile, he was giddy as a killer but straight out the door obsessively eating some grass. We went back to bed & got up later and he seemed fine in himself, no more sick but his tummy was gurgling so loudly I could hear it down the hallway. He wasn't interested in his kibble, he just wanted grass so we took him out for a little walk & he was the same until he had a nice normal poo then his tummy stopped making noises & he was back to eating kibble.
Fast forward to today & I gets home to 3 pile of vomit, one full of partly digested food & the others bile. Out he went & hes back eating grass again. He had a poo and that was fine, came back in only to vomit a bit of liquid and a pile of completely undigested (not even sure if it was even chewed) grass, he's not bothered for any kibble, his tummy is gurgling super loudly again but he's wagging his tail good and proper and keen to go back outside to eat more grass! He doesn't seem lethargic or anything, what do you guys think

More than one day of throwing up and not wanting to eat would send me to the vet ASAP. I usually don't worry much about once or twice, but if it continues I am certainly concerned.

I’d be off to the vet ASAP. Sounds like an obstruction or bloat. At least phone your vet now and ask for advice, and if it’s nighttime then call the emergency vet.

Yes, vet asap - better to get sorted now rather than wait and see. Let us know how Kevin is.

Poor Kevin, sounds like a fair bit of "churning" going on. It sounds like a case of inflammation, a gastroenteritis for example. A quick chat with the vet will set your mind at ease :)

Hope he is feeling better, but I would take a trip to the vet. We did as we where not sure what it was, but it was the below.

Did you by any chance go to the beach and he went for a swim? reason being we had this with Vanilla, and it was that she had swallowed to much seawater. This was when she first started to play/swim in the sea. She had not quite managed to keep her head above the waves

Poor boy. I too would have a chat with your vet as could be a bug if some sort. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Thank you all for your comments. His gurgling seems to have settled but he's had a dodgy looking stool, didn't want to eat this morning & then when he did eat some boiled egg a couple of hours later he vomited bright yellow liquid mixed with the egg so we're heading for a check up at the vets this afternoon. He still seems lively enough and was pulling like a train when I took him for a walk but I just hate to see him not himself

Best of luck! Poor thing, hopefully the vet will sort him out quickly. Is he drinking? You can lace the water with tinned fish to encourage him - don’t want him dehydrated.

Let us know how you get on. It's hard to know what to do when they're otherwise perky, but clearly there's something else going on. Best of luck.

The vet gave him an antiemetic injection, put him on a bland diet for a few days, and gave him a probiotic and some ranitidine to be on with as well. He thinks its just a bug or something hes eaten so fingers crossed he keeps his chicken & rice down tonight & his tummy settles. He wolfed his dinner down which is a step up from his earlier disinterest in any food at least

Glad he has eaten and kept it down. Let's hope it's just a bug that goes quickly.

Thanks all for the well wishes. He's keeping everything down thank heavens, Just waiting on him having a few formed BMs then in a few days hopefully I can wean him off chicken and rice HOWEVER I wondered if anyone else had ever experienced their dog not drinking when they're on a wet diet of rice and chicken? He's normally on a dry kibble diet and to be fair he's not a massive drinker, I've just noticed he doesn't even have a drink when he normally would while he's been on the rice

My Poppy barely drinks; she's mostly on a raw diet, but when she does have kibble I always put a good amount of water in with it. My young dog, Merlin, drinks loads of water, and does copious pees too! So I wouldn't worry too much, just make sure he always has water available even if he doesn't seem to want it.

Snowie is on a raw diet (no brine), and in winter I don’t think he drinks any water other than a little from his bowl where his food was (we always add water on top of the meat and bones - a hangover to the days when we’d pour hot water on it to defrost). In summer he drinks more - a few gulps when he goes into the pond, and from the river on a walk. And after the beach he’ll drink more. But otherwise he hardly drinks water.
