Bunny hop

    Is this a sign of a medical issue or the zoomies. I can’t tell. Duggan is still on slight restrictions so I can’t just let him run free yet. He’s cleared to run in a straight line on lead but not to go free. He gets the zoomies on lead but kinda scoots until he runs out of room then scoots back but he has been also beenbunny hopping. The snow is a bit deep atm too. Wondering if he’s not as healed as the X-ray says or if he’s getting Hip Dysplasia.

    We have been asked this question many times.
    Dogs with HD bunny hop as much as dogs who don't.
    Don't panic about it being a bad sign.

    Agree with @drjs@5 but still worth checking the next time you're at the vets with Duggan for peace if mind.

    Good advice, but don't panic . My late boy bunny hopped all his life and had excellent hips , so it doesn't always indicate trouble .
