Keir has a new naughty behaviour - plonking his paws on OH’s shoulders when he walks in the room!

I must get a photo, then teach him not to do it :p

I took Keir to a Sure Start nursery to do a Guide Dogs speaking engagement. He was an absolute star, lapped up the attention and loved the petting time at the end - he rolled over for tummy rubs.

I was really quite worried as I walked in as he’s got a habit of barking with excitement when we first enter a building. I was very keen that he didn’t as a good half of the Mums and toddlers are Asian and not used to dogs indoors.

So I paid very, very close attention to him when we walked in and before I started the talk. It worked, phew! I must start doing this wherever we go. I tend to just go in and get on with it, but this one needs more support at first when we enter buildings.

Good boy Keir, we both thoroughly enjoyed the morning. I was in my element (speaking) and so was he (lots of attention) :D

Keir is booked in for his Big Boy operation on Tuesday so he’s practicing wearing ‘the collar’, just a few minutes at a time - so far so good.

Oh my, he doesn't have his usual Keir happy face on there, does he? He manages to still look quite regal though!

He looks like a disgruntled ruff wearer from a Elizabethan portrait all he needs is a hat with a feather and a cape. Sir Keir watching the armada?

Such a good idea to practice under stress-free conditions. Kinda a “Duh” moment for me! I’m pretty sure most dogs only get to wear these for the first time after the op.

Seeing Keir in his collar has set me wondering if I should do anything before Red’s spay at the end of April.

It’s always a good idea to introduce any new equipment slowly and gradually with lots of treats involved.

Thank you @Boogie. Yes think I’ll buy a collar and start preparing her slowly - will start another thread about this.
