Does anyone have any idea what this might be? It's just appeared near Stanleys willy. He's licking it a bit but it doesn't seem sore and he doesn't mind me touching it.

I'm so paranoid it's Alabama Rot. I rang the vet and they said just to keep an eye on it and bring him if it gets any bigger.

Sorry about all the stress. I have no idea what that is, although I also can’t make out which part of his body that is! Where’s his willy??

I hope it’s nothing. Did the vet say to clean it with something antifungal or antibacterial, like with an iodine solution, as a precautionary measure?

    His penis.

It's just at the bottom of it on the left side. The vet said just to wash it with some cooled boiling water but if it gets any bigger or worse or he gets anymore to take him straight in x

@JenBainbridge that doesn't look like any of the pictures I've seen of Alabama rot, though those may look more serious as they were diagnosed at a late stage. Also they have(tended) to be on legs or muzzle.

To me it looks more like a bite or an allergic reaction to something. But I'd probably be visiting the vets tomorrow if it's still there or any bigger. He went to the river yesterday... Could something have bitten him?

I feel your pain... We had 5 emergency /unplanned vet visits last year with monty.

I would do just what they say Jen keep an eye in it but I would be taking him to the vet for a look tomorrow I'd want to know what it was? It could be something simple like a abrasion thats a bit infected from a fall from a tree? Or from when he was wobbling about when he was stoned. There's things like ring worm too? I just don't know I'm sorry. Hope it's ok.

Ah I see! (I know what a willy is!)

I am holding thumbs for you that it’s nothing. Could you not just go in now for your own peace of mind?

    Thanks guys.

I know chances are it's nothing but I've seen so much about it lately I'm just completely paranoid. At first I thought he didn't seem himself as well but I think he's just avoiding me because I'm annoying him by prodding and poking at his bits.

I'll keep a close eye on it and take him to the vets tomorrow. I feel like all I do is worry about this dog :(

Hope it's nothing, Jen. Sometimes it seems these dogs are constantly at the vets... Merlin has had blood dripping from his penis and the vet thinks he may have prostate issues...

Thanks @Karen hope it's nothing too serious with the lovely Merlin :(

On a lighter note. He's still got his appetite..

Never a dull moment with Stanley! I hope the vet confirms it’s nothing sinister. (Stanley looks so much like Tuppence, particularly in that video clip!)

Fingers crossed for you that it’s just a scratch/ bite - think you’ve had enough worry with Stanley to be going on with.

    Hope Merlin is ok too.

On a closer inspection (when I'm not panicking and OH can help by bribing him with treats to let me look) I think it's scratches that he's licked and made sore.

It looks like 2 separate lines. It's really hard to get a pic with the wriggle worm.

It's probably off playing with Judge and Dottie on Sunday. Going to keep a close eye on it though.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts :)

Can you send the photo to your vet for an opinion?
