I'm just seeing this now too. Scary there is not an update. I hope that means you are so busy making him comfortable at home, and enjoying him, you haven't yet had time. Lots of good wishes headed your way.

Thanks everyone, we were at the vet for a couple hours. He didn’t throw up again while we were there which was good. They did X-rays which showed his stomach was a bit twisted, but she said because his colon was full of stool that it’s not abnormal for the stomach to be a bit twisted. X-rays showed that his stomach was completely empty, but there were a few big gas bubbles beside each other which she said does make her a bit excited that a foreign object could be there, but that she’s hopeful it’s just due to him being so sick. So she gave him an anti nausea injection and we are to give him some meds to help coat his esophagus and stomach before meals.

I’ve never seen him so sad before, his tail was tucked up right to his belly, and he wasn’t excited to say hi to anyone, he just wanted to stay snuggled up to me. When we got home it was his dinner time but I couldn’t feed him for a few hours and he didn’t even ask for food. He took himself to bed and slept for three hours. Then he woke up begging for food so I was happy.

Worst case scenario there is a sharp object that has caused some trauma and that’s where the gas bubbles are. Or best case scenario he burst a blood vessel from throwing up, which I’m thinking and hoping that’s what it is.

So glad to hear you are both back home. What a shock... I hope you find out what caused the blood in the vomit, and that it is not an object in his stomach.

I had to drop him off at daycare as I work a full day today. They know to call me ASAP if he throws up at all or seems off. He seemed perky but not his usual perky self when walking in to daycare :(

I'm so relieved to hear that he's ok, but you must still be worried. What will the vet do if it happens again? Take further investigative action?

I hope Axel has had a good day (and you too), without any further episodes of sickness. It must be worrying not having a definitive answer.

Glad he’s home and more himself. Fingers crossed that it’s nothing he swallowed.

Well he had a good day at daycare with no issues, so that was a relief. He was very excited about dinner tonight and ate it all up and hasn’t thrown up for just over 24 hours.

I was so scared, I felt like I was losing Axel too:(

Very glad to hear that Axel had a good day. It's totally understandable how worried you were/are with all that's happened.

Oh my word, throwing up blood - so terrifying. Many (many) years ago, I went to a party and drank who knows how much... and threw up blood the next day. Massive headache and full recovery. I hope Axel will be similar!

You’ve had a hard year and I wish you all the best from now on with lots of good health. xxx
