    I know that this place can be an echo chamber, but I think that a lot of people outside of it would agree with your reaction - a) your in-laws know that Stanley requires people to let him outside to toilet, and b) lack of communication. It's great that OH stood up for Stanley to his parents, that's so important, and as long as you can bitch about them to other people then I think you're ok - it's normal that he doesn't want to hear you rag on them, especially if this is just a once off and you have a good relationship with them otherwise. If FIL can't commit to the Stanley schedule, or thinks you're being too precious, then you're entitled to know so that you can make alternative arrangements - that's only fair.
