I was asleep in bed when , at about 12.30 a.m. I woke to hear a noise and terrier Flynn barking like crazy and simulatiously ,my husband who had stayed up to watch something on tv, flung open the bedroom door to ask if I had been out of the room, which I hadnt . He had heard the front door handle being tried , as had Flynn who was still going mad and what was Sam doing ? Sleeping soundly
We rang the Police who arrived very quickly indeed , we saw their torchlights and one called out to say not to worry, it was Police and could we come to the door . Imagine our surprise when an armed Policeman walked in , they had been in pursuit of two men who were armed and attemtping to break into a very local retail outlet just outside our village and thought that, as the men had abandonned their car, it may have been them trying our door . The were Police all over the place , Flynn had stopped barking but was fired up beyond belief and what was Sam doing ? Snoring his head off, much to the amusement of the Police ::) He did deem to lift his head and take a look at the Policeman armed with his Glok but frankly couldnt be bothered to get out of his bed , what a comfort he is :) Needless to say , we got very little sleep last night .

We havent heard anything, typically ::) Where we live is a sleepy and very quiet area of Cornwall where nothing usually happens . We dont even bother to lock our doors at night, but are doing from now on .

Scary or what! They do say Labs don't make good guard dogs because they are too trusting and welcoming, but that was truly laid back. On the other hand it could be the sign of superior intelligence.

"Flynn has it all well in hand - I'll help later if needed but just now a bit more napping. This bed is sooooo comfortable, and hey it's been a long day".

It sounds like Flynn may have saved you from a nasty encounter! But bless Sam for sleeping through it all - very chilled!
