He needs to get more like that skinny thing again! J said "it's just because he's fluffy at the minute". No. No, it's not. He's a porker. Shadow, not J
Stanley is going to stay with my mam when we go on holiday in a few weeks, I know a barrel will return. She fills up his food bow right to the top l and shows him love by hand feeing him chicken and savaloys while he looks at her adoringly
Ha! I have trained my outlaws - FOL will sneak tiny bits to Coco, only tiny. But MOL is a bit scared of me and wouldn't dare!
I try not to complain - it means I don’t have to worry while I’m away because I know he’s with people who love him and treat him like a king. A little diet when we get home is worth knowing he’s safe
I have to share something hilarious that happened yesterday. I think I've mentioned before that hubby is in the 'he'll grow out of it' mindset when it comes to training. It’s a shame because he is actually quite good at it; he taught Maxx to sit in front of his food and wait for the command to start eating in just a few days. I’ve taken Maxx on two walks in the past two weekends (on my own) and they were very structured…I had super delicious steak treats and I painstakingly coaxed him to walk next to me by doing all the things I’ve read on this forum. Within half a block each time he was doing so well. I would say ‘walk with me’ (not sure why I chose that phrase, it just seemed right) and ‘good boy’ over and over along with the treats when he did the right thing. Last night Steve and Maxx came to meet me at the bus stop as they often do. It’s so cute and everyone getting off the bus goes ‘awww’ and wants to pat him. He does his leaping and straining on the leash that drives me NUTS anyway I digress. Halfway home I watched Maxx pulling everywhere and I said ‘give him to me, I’ve been trying to teach him to walk nicely’. So I shortened the lead a bit and said ‘walk with me’ and you won’t believe it but he started trotting nicely right next to me! If only I had a camera to capture the look on hubby’s face! Now I don’t for one minute believe that two walks have completely taught him to walk properly, I’m guessing it was half luck that Maxx just decided it was time for a rest from pulling. BUT the best thing is now surely hubby has to be thinking there actually is some sense in this formal training stuff!
Hah, well done you! I love those smug moments (don’t happen very often in my case). Be careful OH doesn’t start using your ‘walk with me’ now willy-nilly before it is strong enough - I try to keep my cues secret from mine because he would undo them in a matter of minutes! The other day I caught him chanting ‘leave it, leave it’ over and over whilst the Pig was head-first in the dishwasher licking a plate with no visible effect
Happy Friday Morning, here is the Pig after a delightful big sleep on her favourite duvet. The better the sleep, the more ears inside out
Oh she is gorgeous. She almost looks to be saying 'Take the camera away until I've had time to do my face (ears)'
After a truly terrible sad disturbing day with little Moo Rory was an absolute superstar. He is such a sweet dog. He did and behaved just right he helped me so much without even trying . He saw the situation and tailored his behaviour to help.i m so grateful that these dogs pick up my discomfort and sensitivity and react in such a comforting and kind way. He gets when my pain is debilitating and that when stuff happening with Moo he must wait and be patient . Watching him calm himself and just be really careful is amazing such a nice dog.
Good boy Rory...thinking of you @SwampDonkey, probably with a mop attached your arm by the sound of it...
