Yes you are quite right. It's just more that I seem to get in a bit of a muddle with where we are going sometimes and I guess what I mean is that I tend to lose my own focus But the thing that proves this concept the most is the Cross Paw Challenge from October (was it), when I first began it she used to get quite cross and frustrated and rather than upset her I stopped for a while. But periodically through the long grey/white winter and the cold wet spring, and during season and then post spay, we revisited it and each time soon picked up where we had last got to and now, just last week, she can do it ! I know, I know, there has to be a video -- challenge for me to post it
Thanks everyone, your advice is invaluable. After hearing you all I think we need to carry on this week reinforcing what we are doing now already, to nail it. I’m going to attempt our last session tonight with my kids around, not tempting her but just being around her chatting etc. She’s a little crazy today, day 14 of heat and humping everything, not concentrating this morning, very frisky, I’m trying to use these weeks with no forest walks to instill some house manners. Which has been ok while she was a little mopey feeling sorry for herself, but today she’s very lively! so I’m going to do 3 more sessions today with no cue. But I’m going to try and start her off without seeing the treats, just prime her by saying “ready” or something like that, to see if she does it of her own accord. Thanks guys!!
