Is this a good or bad sign?

    Hi everyone.:)

I have a question about something that Frodo does several times a day.
When he isn't working and comes over to me and I pet him, he lets me pet his head on average between 5-20 seconds and then he turns his back to me, which leaves me scratching right above his wagging tail. If I stop, he turns around and lets me pet his head for a couple of seconds and then he turns his back to me again.
I was wondering what that means. Do any of you know?
A friend of mine (who has two dogs of her own) told me that it means that he really trusts me, but is that true?
I should perhaps mention that my parents dog (he was mine the first year as a teenager before I got sick and my mum had to take over for me) did the same thing often with me as well. I just thought that he wasn't that interested since he was so close with my mum and his tail wasn't really wagging.

    Kaktus.

Sounds like he loves having that spot scratched. Snowie adores having the area at the base of his tail scratched, makes little air licks when I scratch just the right spot.

Ella always backs up to us when we're sitting on the couch and gives us the "please scratch my bottom now" look

I think they just really like the scratch :D

Maxx too, especially when you come home and he's doing his frantic wagging of the whole body happy-to-see-you dance. He worms around your legs for a while then presents bottom for scratching!

Frodo trick me by presenting his handsome face and then 10 seconds in ~ "please scratch my backside, thanks.":p

Good to know that it's not a bad sign and that at least I am being helpful for the little guy when he can't reach the right spot on his own. :D

Wait until they stretch out their legs or turn round to get a good chest scratch. They pur whilst being scratched and give you an evil look when you stop and if you don't continue right away they make a crying noise and present relevant body part for scratching.

Training in progress I would say

Offering you his head is his way of saying "oi, scratch my butt!" When Xena wants her chest scratched she'll paw at us. As soon as we stop scratching her chest out goes the paw. We are definitely her monkey butlers.
