Really? It all seemed a bit over the top, but I still didn't want to push him.

The funny thing is that this is a dog who prefers to lie in the sun in the garden whenever he gets the chance. I thought he was kind of "Spain-proofed" for heat, but I guess not!

Yes, she will lie in the sun - but it’s not long before she gives up and goes back indoors. She adores the sun but will insist on wearing this black fur coat to sunbathe! Keir lasts five times longer in the sun than Tatze, even ‘tho his coat is long.

I keep Tatze’s walks to the cool of the day in the hot summer (which equals about four days here lol!)

Willow is actually my biggest sunbather. If she's in the mood, she will stay out in the sun all day if I let her. Luna struggles in the heat, which I put down to her super thick coat. She's not the sort of dog to instigate lying down, but if we're on a mooching walk and I stop, she'll flop down and lie by my side whilst the other two zoom about doing zoomy Labrador things. She's always run hot, even as a puppy in the UK winter she'd ask to go out and then lie down on the cold wet pebbles for a sleep instead of being inside on a comfy bed. Weirdo.

So Carbon isn't your forever dog, just a foster ? If I was younger I would have him like a shot.:) Not that I am passed it, but I would die before he would.

Just enjoyed the boys playing on the bed this evening instead of hitting the beach. I think we were all tired from our forest hike!

Here they are playing with their snake and basically uniting to rip both of his ends off (don't worry, he survives)...

And doing their typical play time on the duvet. This usually happens at about midnight, so maybe we'll have an early night of it tonight. :)

For as long as I foster a dog, they are my dog and I love them as such. I've had fosters for a year that I was sure would end up my own forever dog and then the perfect family comes along and I realise that I was just a way station...no matter how much I loved them during that year and how hard it is to let them go. You just never know going into it.

Carbon is at the beginning of his journey, let's see who his real family turns out to be. But right now he's my boy and I'm going to enjoy every moment of him. :)

'Persistent' just about sums up Paul! They're having such fun! Wispa and Tuppence play like that, with Tuppence usually the more persistent. Wispa has Carbón's 'whole head and neck in the mouth' technique!

Yeah, and it can certainly look a little scary even if it's all fine with the pups themselves! When I saw Carbon play with Paul like that at shelter for the first time, I was worried that he was being too aggressive and would hurt 'poor little Paul'. Ha, ha. Turns out Paul completely wails on Carbon 95% of the time and bosses him around something fierce...looks can be deceiving! :D

My friends cat and dog used to play like this. The dog would grip the cats neck and drag it about growling the cat loved it. They were inseparable the cat would clean the dog kick him out of his bed and ambush him. They really loved each other . They were a lovely pair sweet dog and wonderful cat. Solomon has passed now and Daisy refused to use his bed she missed him but she's ancient herself now. It was amazing watching them together Daisy was the boss though. :)

I've been relatively quiet - for me :D - during the last few days as a battle has been brewing over little Paul. Everyone involved wanted the absolute best for him and we all wanted to do the right thing, but when emotions and varying opinions and cultures get tossed on the fire, it all gets a little messy. And boy howdy, did it get messy.

But the end result is that today I'm holding two doggie passports in my hot little hands which means, at least for the moment, Paul and Carbon are mine. But not to worry, I'm not doing it alone and there is a good plan in place for both dogs. Carbon and Paul have the backing of two different breed-specific rescue organisations and we are doing this through all proper channels. Kate @Beanwood (as usual) is providing brilliant back up and advice, for which I'm SO grateful. Technically, Kate also has half of Carbon, but as we couldn't sort out which half, we've just agreed to share. :)

End result: the happy furry sandy crazy crowded possibly stinky Freedom Tardis (aka my Honda Jazz) will set out in a couple weeks for the UK.

Yes, I'm nuts. But in the most harmless sort of way. :cwl:

Yay! This is brilliant! I know how liberating it is to know they are legally yours and so you have the final say in how their story ends.

Messy doesn’t sound good; I hope you didn’t lose any friendships over it.

Well done to you and Kate for organising everything!
