Alfie is now 8 months , we’ve had are challenges with him and a winter puppy is a challenge in itself ! He’s grown into a friendly and happy chap and well behaved (mostly...) long may it continue
Very handsome. Although in my mind black Labs don't look right with willies It's not sexist. Yellow Labs don't look right without!
He is a lovely dog! Can I ask though, what are the challengrs with a winter puppy? I have one, and have never heard that this is something different?
I think most people find a spring/summer puppy easier as the weather is more favourable to having doors open and generally being outsoors. Also , no standing about in zero degrees , waiting for that pee or poo which is the last thing on pups mind !
All other pups I’ve had have always been young in the summer , we got Alfie in November and with a very cold winter toilet training wasn’t as easy x
We also had a winter puppy kind of - slightly older at 4 months when winter set in. Those early morning walks in the dark and rain were not enjoyable! Breeders really need to get their timing right!!
Ha! We had a particularly harsh winter this year plus I’m 12 years older since our last pup , don’t think that helped either
Totally agree! Waiting outside with previous sweetheart, Solstice, for her to do what she needed to in Feb/ March was without doubt more taxing than doing the same with Joy in June/ July. Still, we always get there in the end and they're just as loveable of course, no matter when they're born.
