So Ashima almost 6 months and is losing her baby teeth and she is just not herself. Seems a bit blue, not that active. Are these two things related? It’s like she became an adult overnight which I am sure is not the case.

    Thank you.

It's not impossible but it's not necessarily normal either. It could indicate that the teething process is causing her a bit of pain so maybe try a frozen, knotted tea towel, frozen carrot or similar to see if you can ease the discomfort. Of it continues though, and if there are any other symptoms, I'd be tempted to give the vet a call.

Thanks. I’ll offer something frozen and see if it helps.

Depressed was also the word I would use to describe my teething pup. He lost his first 4 teeth about a week ago. He seemed sad and blue. He wanted to play but it hurt his mouth. He was just generally blah. Curled up in a corner. New teeth cut through and he was back to his normal crazy self.

If she is acting out of character I would check with the vet just to ensure it is just her teeth.

That’s exactly what’s going on! I’m going to watch it a few more days. It’s just so odd!

We took our puppy to the vet only to get there and have him jump up on the receptionist and lick her face with his little bum and tail going crazy, spend the entire time in tbe waiting room desperately trying to play with someone's pet duck (fortunately in a cage!) and tjen when it was his turn, jump up on the table and roll over for the vet to scratch his belly.

Vet looked at me with a raised eyebrow and said "so you're telling me he doesn't want to play, has no interest in you or fun, is lying in a corner moping around all day, and acting lethargic?" I said "uummmmm yes?" I felt so stupid! He did a full exam and said come back in a week if nothing has changed. And I had the pleasure of paying for that visit...

Anyway I am glad we took him because safe vs sorry and all that, but it was an expensive lesson learned!!

I also find that my pup does this mopey lethargic depressive behaviour and sleeps 22/24hrs and snaps out of it after 2 days for me to discover his walking harness needs to be expanded an inch. Just like my children, sleep like Rip van Winkle for a while and wake up bigger!!

That’s so funny! Lucky ducky by the way!

Today she seems fine and I’m just going to go with it and see. I’ve had some expensive lessons myself and having had a number of pets am going to trust I’ll know when to take her in. She’s playing, antagonizing my old pup, and being a bit of a pain - back to normal.
