I know several people who grind pumpkin seeds and feed to their dogs as a dewormer. So I read up on it and discovered much research has been done on dewormers and animals (I suppose that’s obvious!), especially that there is intestinal worm resistance to chemical dewormers, much like what has happened with overuse of antibiotics.

That's interesting, I'm no good at absorbing scientific data, but it's good to know research is being carried out on this. I wasn't aware of pumpkin seeds being used in this way.

Years ago the old country horsemen, and gypsies, used to give a wad of tobacco to horses and ponies by way of a wormer! I often wondered if it was effective -- I doubt it was ever researched!

I wasn’t either. But when I mentioned it to my 80-year-old mom, she said, yes, of course it’s known.
