We recently, a few months ago, bought a beagle puppy to add to the family. He's such a sweetie, and him and Lucius get on great together. However, something I have noticed recently with the two is that when they each have an antler chew (both the same size) the puppy (His name is Pup) will get up from chewing his antler and go and take Lucius'. Lucius wont growl or tell him off, he just gets up and walks away. He does this with toys as well but usually Lucius will just think hes playing tug of war and not let go. I was just wondering if this is normal behaviour. Should I be worried about either of them? Is Lucius just not bothered about his toys or antlers or is Pup just getting the better of him. P.S: They do get on, always playing and cuddling etc...
Our dogs including the other dogs they play with, often steal each others toys. As long as nobody gets upset, I don't think it is a problem.
No one gets upset, just curious if Lucius just gave up telling him off. He tried telling him off when Pup was 8 weeks, but Pup enthusiastically ignored him, and he hasn't tried since.
One of mine frequently does this with the other. I don't worry about it unless one of them gets upset.
Yeah Pup isn't too keen on lucius taking things off him (no growling but just runs off with the toy in his mouth) and lucius gets the message and goes back to doing whatever it was he was doing before, usually snoozing!
