This morning , we went to a very local dog friendly beach , family outing including Nelly . We do so love people watching , this morning we were rewarded ! We watched a couple come onto the beach , both dressed up to the nines, looking immaculate . I thought to myself " There may be trouble ahead " as there are always loads of dogs , oh boy , maybe we shouldn't have laughed but .........
The couple sat quite near to us tut tutting at the volume of dogs , Nelly had had a good run off lead so was back on her long line, when a very bouncy young black Labrador came on the scene , charged into the river that cuts through the beach and then proceeded to fly out , doing a zoomie and shook right next to said immaculately dressed lady, who was not amused and shouted out her annoyance. This made the young dog even more excited , he pranced around the lady before swiping his tongue over her face , to which she shrieked even more loudly . The owner of the dog was frantically trying to catch it , but it was having far too much fun with his new bestie as she tried to swat him with her newspaper .It seemed like an age until at last the embarrassed owner managed to calm the dog and catch him whereupon he apologised profusely to the lady who was having none of it . Now covered in sand, she ordered her mouse like husband to pack up their rug , saying " For Gods sake, lets get out of this dog ridden hell hole , I knew we should have gone to Crete " . Thanks for the laughs lady !!

Your loss is Cretes gain maybe? What a dick you don't have picnic on a dog heavy beach unless you want uninvited guests I would have wet myself even if it was my dog. So funny ridiculous woman. I would not have been sorry:)

He was just lovely , all eager and bouncy , bless him . Honestly , especially at this time of year , most beaches have restrictions re dogs , so why in heavens name would you chose to go to a very popular doggy beach if you don't like them ? So many people were laughing, she made such a spectacle of herself , made my day xx

Haaaa! I would’ve paid to see that!

I bet the poor dog owner was MORTIFIED! We’ve all had the tigger vs snob moment. You’re so embarrassed but trying not to laugh at the same time :D

For me, the funniest moment was when ,during her attempts to waft him with her newspaper , Labrador grabbed it from her, ripping it in half in the process , talk about adding insult to injury, priceless ! x

    Kate, shame on you!

Not for laughing but for not videoing the incident for posterity ;) I'm sure you could have sold copies afterwards (including one to the husband!)

Oh how wonderful! That could well have been my last lab, Solstice! It's what I always call 'Joie de Dog' and there's nothing lovelier! It exists of its own accord, quite apart and exempt from anything else. Nothing else comes near it, it should be totally allowed and it's one of the reasons for us having much to learn from dogs. I've had a lovely day with Joy today and your brilliant post is just sending me to bed smiling.:happyfeet::inlove::sun: Thankyou!
