Thank you - very kind and encouraging words.

And I love the description of Paul as "a toddler who's buzzed on Red Bulls". You've summed him up perfectly! :D

After our final 10:30 pm beach walk, the boys didn't make a peep last night despite the hotel noise. I'm VERY proud of them. Fingers crossed for a good drive a nice hotel and beach at the end of today's road in France! :)

    Thinking of you Emily.
I think you are a coper. Maybe need to vent to help, but you have lots of listening ears (eyes?).
I for one think you are amazing and wish I had even 1/10th of your tenacity and sheer blinkin determination.
    Safe driving Carrefour hunting x

It must be strange for the dogs as well, they have been in a shelter and heaven knows what happened to them before that, they are now doing something which must be very strange for them but I am sure they will adjust as you go further.

I cannot say how proud I am of you, I don't know anyone who would take on the driving you are doing alone without another human and with two dogs! I am sure having @Beanwood waiting for you is a star to guide you to safety and peace.

You are making a difference to the lives of two dogs, that is a wonderful and fulfilling thing to do, even if it does drive you crazy at times. We are all here for you to vent away.

I think there might be a book in your adventures, you have a great and entertaining way of writing :)

The more I read about Paul the more I wish I could adopt him. He's just the sort of character I love. I do hope his new owners will thoroughly enjoy the bonkers little chap. :)

The more I read about Paul, the more I think I wouldn't want to adopt him:D

Holly wouldn't like us to adopt another dog. She's invested a lot of effort into training us and would hate to see it all undone.

That's great news, Mags. Maybe they'll just forget to send him to Big School at all? :)

Thank goodness for your listening 'eyes' 'cause venting here really does help. :) And I think you meant to say 'pigheadedness' instead of determination.

Can you believe I still didn't find a blinking Carrefour? I saw one from the autoroute but couldn't get off in time. Oh well. I'm REALLY going to appreciate Sainsbury's ready meals by the time I get to the UK.

I was thinking of that today as Carbon was lying on beach covered in sand with a blissed-out look on his face. This is a dog who never even got outside a metal cage from the age of six months to a year old. Then two months in the refuge, where he had a concrete run and four hours a day in the exercise yard, which must have seemed like paradise. Now he gets stuck in a tiny car, driven across country, in a different hotel every night. And same thing for Paul - can you imagine how his little head must be exploding?

Thank you for the cheerleading, it's very appreciated. I honestly didn't think it would be this challenging as I'd traveled so much with Brogan. Did I mention how much this has made me appreciate Brogan even more than I already did? He was rather amazing, but then I've said that before. Just a few times. ;)

Yes, thank goodness Kate's on the other end of this voyage, as well as Paul's new family who are following along on Facebook. If nothing else, it has truly driven the point home that I'm not cut out for a Bodeguero long term. I love the little suckers, but maybe in smaller doses? :p

Hey, as I'm currently unemployed, maybe that's my new career? Except if I wrote books about dogs, they'd never die. I can't stand stories where the dog dies. So my stories will be about immortal traveling dogs. Immortal traveling incontinent dogs? :D

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Heh, heh, just kidding. He's a great little dog and he will get over his wee issues. His new family has a border collie and have recently lost their beloved malinois, so while they are new to Bodegueros, they have great familiarity with what I fondly call "glutton for punishment' breeds.

But if you love his personality, he is 100% typical Bodeguero and there are thousands that need adoption, of all ages. The rescue group that made Paul's new home possible is just starting but would be a great resource for you, even if you just want to join the FB page to learn more about Bods. PM me if you are interested. And @snowbunny has a Bod in her shelter right now that she's trying to help, so you could ask her, too. They are such great dogs. Real clowns, less independent than most terriers (they really attach to their humans) and also very affectionate... the ultimate cuddle bugs. :)

Oh yes, you've got that right. Carbon loves to play but sometimes when it's been a long day, he completely makes me laugh because Paul will come at him, biting on his neck as usual and Carbon will simply take one large paw and put it on Paul's head to hold him down. The message is very clear, "Look, little dude, I love ya, but we are DONE for the day." :D

No with your travels, it'd be immortal travelling intercontinental dogs! :D

Hmmm, can you imagine Paul on an aeroplane?

Sorry if I gave you nightmares! :D
