The meet and greet went well, they really are a lovely couple, they brought along their charming border collie Polly, who at first was a bit disengaged. So all of us went to the paddock with Bramble to help things along. When Polly saw how much fun Paul and Bramble were having racing around in the paddock she just had to hoick up her fluffy skirts and join in! This was a bittersweet moment, as they had very recently lost their other dog, Teddy, and since then Polly had become indifferent around other dogs.

The plan was for them to go home and Emily would deliver Paul (Vizzy) later this afternoon. As you can imagine, it has been difficult, this is the very hard part of being a fosterer, when it is time to say, OK you have been a good boy, all is well, and it is time for you to go to your forever home.

So let's all raise a toast to Emily, for the very amazing job she has done with Paul and Carbon...:) :celebrate: I think a few cyber hugs wouldn't go amiss either!

    In the meantime....a lovely weekend...:inlove:

Is Paul going to be living nearby to you Kate?
Emily, that drive is epic enough as it is, without the difficulty of two dogs, especially with Paul’s unique toileting habits. I can only imagine how emotionally exhausted you must be after all of that and then him going to his new family today. Big, big hugs to you.

I can't find words to express fully how fantastically amazing Emily has been to save two dogs, to drive across Spain and France and over to England. Beanwood has been a support as well, so cyber hugs to you both and dear Carbon and Paul x

"Well done" just isn't enough, is it. You're a special one, Emily, and I hope you know it.
Give yourself a well-deserved cuddle from us. And one for Carbon too.

I'm thrilled to hear (and see!) that the meeting went so well. Paws crossed that Vizzy and Polly become great buds. You must be a whirlwind of emotions, Emily, sending you virtual hugs and chocolate. And Remy, oh Remy :inlove: Do you think he's smiling on the inside? Or plotting dog domination?

Thank you all so much for such kind and supportive replies. I'm so grateful to Kate for everything and glad she posted some of her many wonderful photos. I'll post more both from the trip and just in general later but doing a bit of recovery at the moment as still feeling rather rough. No sadness at all for our little man Paul, however, as he's landed in the clover and has started his new life as a much-loved family member. :)
