Cody has a hard lump (feels like a testicle but is in the wrong place) to the side of his willy.

Its appeared in the last day or so. Its red and about an inch in width. He is not in the least bit bothered.

Intend to swap hot and cold on it for a day or so in case its a bite and get the vet to check him over at the weekend if there is no change.

He goes into long grass regularly and is in the garden a lot. However it doesnt look like an obvious bite.

Any ideas? Im really hoping its not a cyst.

    He has been "done"

Before I read that it was red, I thought it was the normal lumps, one on either side of the penis, that appear when a male intends to tie with a bitch - they’re special glands. But I’m not sure if they appear in neutered males. The ones I’m talking about come and go, depending on the “situation”. My boy sometimes wakes up with them - I guess he’s been dreaming! I hope what your dog has is simply a bite or a benign cyst. My vet always says don’t ignore lumps. So far we’ve taken our boy in for what turned out to be his nipple! And another time for allergy bumps. Thankfully always turned out to be nothing. I hope the same for your boy.

If your worried just get you vet to check it. They get bites scratches etc and they can get infected. Rory has a spot on his Willy at the moment if t does get any better it might be a vet visit for him too.

Thanks guys. Ive applied my miracle cure cider vinegar. He is just not bothered by it.

Will keep an eye on it. He has had a lump on his head before and it went with cider vinegar after a few days.

    Fingers crossed

Its all but gone. We are 100% convinced it was the aftermath of a tick feasting.

We found a fully fat dead one later that night. Must have fallen off just before we noticed his lump.

All thats left is a little nub with small scab on tip

What a relief, but how hideous! I hate ticks too. We've only had one (touch wood), I was SO proud that I managed to remove it myself, with a tick twister. I've taken cats to the vets in the past, to have ticks removed!

He would have got it on his walk with his walker. She commented the other day she was having to brush ticks off the dogs before they latch on the other day and there seems to be loads of them this year.

It cant have been on his long (couple of hours). Did a good job though. The lump was rather large and did very much resemble a testicle
