Pongo's domination of our household is now complete. Looking back, the phases have been like this:

1 Pongo will have two meals of kibble per day. NO TABLE SCRAPS.
2 Well, OK. He's so good. A few little bits of our plates. Sweet puppy.
3 Put up a bit more on our plates than we'll want ourselves. There has to be a portion for Pongo.
4 Lets have lamb or chicken rather than pork. Pork doesn't agree with Pongo's tummy. Yes, I know pork is our favourite, but....

And then today, we had visitors at lunchtime so we had a nice big barbecue lunch. We're not hungry this evening. We're sat watching telly, not planning to have any dinner. But....

5 "Pongo can't settle down for the evening until he has shared our dinner. So we'd better at least have some cheese and biscuits so he can have some. Don't really want or need it, but hey. There you are Pongo, a few snackettes of cheese. Happy now? Yes, OK, curl up on the sofa and sleep now. Good boy."

Pongo is undoubtedly the master of our household.

    I do love this!

Having had a delicious lunch at @Rosie 's, I can vouch for the fact that everyone takes a bit more so that Pongo can have his taste. And such good table manners - he takes his food quite delicately from a fork! :D

There's no point in having a dog if you don't share EVERYTHING! x :D

Absolutely servants, I’m trying to remember when we’ve just done something for ourselves over the last month since Pepper arrived!

Having said that neither of us would change it!

I’m glad all’s right with Pongo’s world! There’s nothing like a bit of food-led routine...:)

I laughed out loud at your post @Rosie and DH wanted to know what I was reading, so I read it out loud to him and he was quite chuffed that firm boundaries were in place with Harley. *Insert my raised eyebrow here* The next evening I am preparing supper and he gets a yogurt out of the fridge and eats it, and I say, "You should have said you were hungry, I would have started the food earlier." to which he replies "Oh, no. I'm not hungry, Harley wants a yogurt so I am having one." Just to explain, we let Harley lick the yogurt cups once we finish the bulk of the yogurt (as we stand and turn them for her, telling her what a good dog she is). Firm boundaries indeed.

Yes indeed. Harley has clearly established some very firm boundaries for you. Good girl Harley.

My mom takes extra meat for her dog also because she knows he will be sharing it with her. We are going to see how long it last with Balder and not feeding him. Funny watching my mom try to sneak Bear his part of lunch when Balder is off sniffing grass.
