This morning I was so pleased with the way my two behaved on our walk I'm afraid I had to share it with people who'd appreciate it. ( That's you) ;D As some of you might remember my dogs are very nervous creatures and we've been working hard on it. It's still work in progress! : This morning we were just getting back to the other end of our lane, coming down our lane towards us was the giant schnauzer and standard poodle with the woman who despite having no control of her dogs lets them loose. When we meet them with the man they have a go and lunge at us with her they are worse. We stopped just at the start of the lane where it's widest and waited fish treats in hand, dog sat perfectly either side. Would you believe it that's how they stayed !!!!! ;D Despite watching them coming towards us for quite away and the schnauzer lunging on its back legs at us making a heck of a din they didn't move (except to lick fish) or make a sound. They didn't even bother to make their heads big (I'm sure you'll know what I mean by that) . They sat until noisy dogs out of sight then moved on the release cue. At one time they would have started to react while watching them coming towards us. I was so proud I looked (being the operative word ) like I had perfectly behaved dogs . :
Re: So pleased had to share Oh well done you Jen and the dogs too of course ;D Its so heartwarming when we are expecting naugtiness and it doesnt happen ;D ;D

Re: So pleased had to share Thanks everybody. Let's see what tomorrow brings but we are going in the right direction. ;D
Re: So pleased had to share The fish treats are from CSJ Helen. They are called Fushcuits and are100% salmon. They aren't cheap but they absolutely love them and the treats absolutely stink so they keep their attention well. They don't smell bad just of salmon. They are easily broken into small pieces so they go a long way. I'm fairly sure there's no postage on CSJ treats so the price of the pack is all you pay. They certainly work for my two. ;D Jen Ps. they are more the consistency of a crisp than a biscuit so easily eaten and good for super dooper clicker treats.
Re: So pleased had to share That's fantastic news, well done you, all your hard work is paying off, i hope they both continue to improve
Re: So pleased had to share Well done you. You should be very proud of yourself as well as your two x
Re: So pleased had to share Believe it or not they did it again yesterday! ;D This time it was paddy and sasha the two Tibetan terriers from by the canal. Paddy doesn't like us. to be honest we aren't keen on him. We met on a much narrower part of the road this time single track. They reacted slightly with their body language particularly Scott but when I said look at me and sit they did and relaxed. They sat perfectly either side of me licking their fish while I spoke to their owner who I know for at least 5 mins. We waited for them to go then moved on the release cue. ;D Perhaps it's finally sinking in. : Unfortunately I think Scott may have sat on nettles or brambles or something as in the afternoon he kept licking his 'bits' (more than normal) and they looked red. This morning still a bit red but so far not bothered with them! Oh the things you have to do . :
Re: So pleased had to share That is just great!!!! (except about the interaction between the nettles and the delicate bits).
