Me again!! Boy am I glad to have you guys. Question about where I should put my crate...I am sloooooowly working on crate training my very vocal Velcro 13 week old puppy who can’t stand to have me out of her site. We are currently up to 15 seconds of me out of the room and her in her crate! Yay! lol. I currently have the crate in a good, central location, but my puppy can see the door I come and leave from. I’m wondering if it would be better if I moved it somewhere where she does NOT have direct view of the door? Wondering if that would make me leaving less stressful for her? Or would it make it worse?

We don't crate Cooper anymore, but she does use her crate as her quite place some times. It is a large wire crate in the kitchen, but it is covered with a blanket or beach towel so it is dark inside like a den. The door is always open though, since she does not need to be crated anymore.

Cover his crate with a blanket. I made a cover for our dog’s crate out of old curtains. Moving her crate is a good idea too. Most crates have two doors so maybe use the side door.

I always feel dogs should have a quiet place to go so that they can fully rest. But not shut away too much! Mine was in the utility room which off the dining room.
