Has anyone delt with Interdigital Furunculosis? I noticed some swelling/redness on Larks front right toe a few days ago and it seems swolen and is leaking some fluid. From some quick research online it seems to be a semi common lab issue. It doesn’t seem too painful, she’s still walking/running just fine. Any tips? I’ll definitely be seeing a vet if it starts looking worse or it seems like it’s bothering her.

Yep, my boy had this when he was about 8 months old. Not too big of a deal. The vets gave me some medicine to mix with water in a bowl and he was to stand in it for 5 minutes at a time 3 times a day. I think they gave him anti-biotics also.

He wasn't very happy about the foot bath bit, but with a combination of treats and holding the foot in place, we got through it. It took over a week to clear up. Hope they fix Lark up soon!

We’ll I’ll keep up with the Epsom salt soak then until we make it to the vet. The soonest appointment they had was Sunday.

Our dog Duke had a similar swelling between his toes. He was given antibiotics, but since he had been around grass seeds, they ended up doing exploratory surgery. They didn’t find any foreign body and agreed it was just and intergital cyst. I was a bit annoyed the first vet we saw didn’t say this sort of swelling between the toes is quite common in Labradors otherwise I wouldn’t have put Duke (and my wallet) through an unnecessary surgery, and would have waited to see if the antibiotics fixed the problem.

Don't know if it's the same but my boy had a swollen paw pad when he was 8 months. The vet said that as it was on his paw pad he couldn't do much and as he wasn't in pain he just gave us antibiotics which did nothing .he still has it now at 3 years old doesn't hurt him and he still runs and plays normally but just has a funny shapes paw pad.
