Hello again, sorry for so many posts, I got a puppy he is 9 weeks now and I started teh training with him but my big problem is that I can´t mantain the puppy focused in the training even a little time, he always run for other thing or sit or down to do nothing. And another problem is the puppy biting he bites a lot, I know its normal but do you have some advices for me about this things?
At the moment just having him focus on you and marking and rewarding will help. Once he learns thats good tasty treats come from looking at you, he will be more than happy to focus on you for longer and longer. Puppies bite, all puppies bite. Some are worse than others. Always, always be prepared and have a toy, or two or three, to hand for those teeth to engage with rather than human skin.
Don’t take this the wrong way as I have a puppy the same age, but I think we need more training than the puppies.
Those teeth are really sharp aren't they? . Here is some information to help you cope with biting Here's a helpful video to get you started with training - the first step is to get your puppy hooked on the idea that paying attention to you is worthwhile, but you'll also need him to understand he can't just grab at food whenever he wants it. This video will help with both those objectives
I do that with toys do not work, he drop the toy and attack my hand I Know it's normal and don't want a miracle to change that, just a little less biting. I'm trying to work with the look at me but he is a pain in that he just wants to play and don't look.
Ok so have a little play with him and then make a kissy sound for him to look at you and as soon ad he dies mark and reward, then mark and reward for every slight look at you and then gradually build duration from 1 to 2 seconds etc by not clicking at the first glance but having to maintain eye contact. Until you have built some willingness to maintain eye contact your training is unlikely to proceed very quickly on anything else.
Don't forget he is a very young puppy still so attention on you for a second or two can be real progress
