Hello can someone please give me some advice. I brought my 9 week old lab home to us last night. He seemed to Settle well and got along fine with our King Charles. This morning he was happy and playful and had 100grams of the food he has been on with his breeder. At dinner time he wouldn’t touch his food and has been very sleepy and has had two episodes of diorreah and has also been sick. I am really worried him. I have been advised to give him smaller more frequent meals mixed with water to make it easier for his tummy to digest. He doesn’t seem interested in eating at all and just wants to sleep. How long should I wait before taking him to a vets.
I would ring and speak to your vet immediately they will tell you what to do. Puppies can become ill very quickly and it's best be safe when they are so young. Hope everything' ok . X
You should take him to the vet for a health check ASAP. It's probably nothing to worry about but better to be safe than sorry. Let us know how you get on.
Hi thank you for ur replies. I’ve taken him to the vets and she can’t find anything obvious. She has given him an anti sickness injection and some probiotics and also some antibiotics just on the air of caution as he hasn’t had his injections yet. Also have some sensitive chicken and rice food for him- he won’t entertain it yet. He’s fast asleep now and I’m hoping he will perk up tomorrow. I feel so sorry for him ☹️
Good, it’s better to be cautious, so I hope he’s better tomorrow. It’s best to give him four meals a day at his age, but you’ve probably done that anyway. It may be just a reaction to change. Let us know how he gets on.
Oh yes, they break your heart when they are not well! Especially when you can't do anything for them. You've done the right thing by getting vet advice....hope he is better tomorrow! Welcome to the forum - let us know how he gets on!

Hi thank you for your comments, he seems much brighter today. He’s eaten a small portion of chicken and rice and has had a good playtime no more diorreah or sickness so far thankfully.
