hi. Bonnie has just banged into the fireplace hearth and has a small cut on her head, just above her eyebrow.
She obviously can’t lick it there, I’m wondering if it’s ok to just I’ve it a saline rinse and then dab a little Savlon on to it. I could run her up to the vet, or I that over reacting, this is the first little accident she’s had. It’s only about 1 cm, but does quite deep pink

If you are at all concerned, I would run her up to the vet, or telephone for advice. It is only a small cut but quite deep by the sound of it. Otherwise, just keep your eye on it. If she was my dog, I would just saline rinse and not use Savlon.

Thank you for your help, I meant to say it’s a deep pink colour, I don’t think it’s a very deep cut. I’m a newbie still, although she’s recently been spayed, this is her first cut, if it was on one of the kids I would probably just clean it up and put a plaster on, but I can’t do that on Bonnie, she gets grubby, and furry. I’m going to watch it over the next few hours, If I don’t like the look of it later on I think I’ll take her up to the vet. Thank you, I took her to the vet when she was little because she sprained her ankle, the next day she was fine. I think I might be over reacting.
