Three months ago I adopted a pure white male Lab who is now just two years old, he is snowy white with gorgeous dark brown eyes and nose, I've had quite a few labs, both yellow and black, over the years but Alfie is totally different and many people have stopped me to comment on his colour and take photos of him. I've never seen another one as white as him, does anybody out there have one the same colour as our Alfie boy.
Hi Steve, my yellow lab is at the opposite end of the spectrum (fox red) - but just wanted to say welcome to the forum! We'd love to see some photos of your dog when you have time.
Hi Steve, Welcome to the forum! I don't have a white Lab myself, but we've got an article all about white Labs here that might be of interest
We have a 9 month old white lab, Atticus. He is very unique looking and gets *lots* of attention from strangers. 99% of the attention is positive but we'll get the occasional "Are you sure he's a lab. Labs are never this white".
They are yellow technically, but if you breed a "white" coat to another "white" coat, the mutated "e" gene will produce offspring with "white" coats....some of them have the yellow outlining the ears, backs of legs and the "angel wings" near the shoulder showing that they are in fact yellow but some do appear to be pure white. Our Roamin is out of a lighter yellow coated Dam and a white Sire....He is so far (9 weeks) developing more yellow but was pure white at whelping.
Hi and welcome. No white Labs here, complete opposite, mine are black. Alfie is gorgeous! Enjoy the forum.
