i adopted my 12 yr old lab, Laker, 2 1/2 months ago. No history. I have him on no novox 100 mg, 1/2 tab. 2x day. Also joint health, 500mg, glucosamine,400mg, chondroitn., for hip and joints. He's been pretty good.. I live on 2 no floor apt. He goes up slow, I take him on 2 walks a day, to poop. He goes out to pee 4 x day. TODAY, he has nothing. He has peed and poop this morning. He seems a little out of it. Sleeping all day, .drank very little water, only part of his breakfast, hasn't touched his dinner. Can bear key lift his head. Last very short walk about 1:30. He could hardly do it. Had to help him upstairs. No fever, isn't whimpering, no pain when I touch. His ears are warm. Any thoughts rt now. Could his time with me be coming to an end. I knew in adopting a senior what happens. I adopted Laker from humane society to give him the best in the time he has left. I am in love with my laker. He doesn't seem to be suffering. I can't get I'm into vet till sat. So help is needed with my laker. He's my first lab, and first senior.

If you cannot get him to the vet until Saturday, can you phone the vet for some advice? My dog was on Previcox which might be the same or nearly, as Novox, it was great for relieving his pain, but I am afraid to say it killed him as it damaged his stomach. He might just be tired, is the weather hot, is he over full with food, many other reasons for this behaviour, but to me it does sound as if he is unwell, phone the vet and then see how he is.
