As you may see from the avatar update, we had the follow up session with the litter and the puppy we chose was also one of the two the breeder thought would be a good fit as he is very laid back (well most are at 6 weeks !) and 2 more weeks before he comes home. Great excitement in the family and loads more to do at home to build the run, try to puppy proof the garden, get the key essentials (seems to be toys according to children) !! Been a fair amount of debate about names and Dexter is the leading contender currently.
Oh what a beautiful boy! Get lots of sleep, and don't forget to charge up the camera batteries too (it is simply impossible to take too many puppy pictures). My best puppy purchase (in retrospect) was definitely a piece of vetbed. Doubles as toy, tuggy, chew, comforter. Indestructible. Enjoy!
He looks lovely! Get lots of sleep in the next two weeks! Vetbed is available on a roll, so that you can cut two or three bed-sized pieces from one roll - cheaper than buying individual pieces. It washes well and dries quickly too. Don't forget the Kongs - probably normal-sized, as a puppy one isn't going to be suitable for long.
He looks gorgeous! Don't be fooled, our breeder said Pepper was one of the quieter and calmer pups, and he was for the first week, then he became the mischievous little boy he is now! And as @Granca says, don’t forget Kongs - several of them!
Mine is 4 weeks old tomorrow not getting him until almost 11 weeks as we're going on holiday so he's staying with his mum a bit longer. I started buying little odds & ends as soon as we decided to get a puppy but still managed to spend £150 on the weekend for things, I think we have everything now though. We have toys (lots), kongs, bowls, 2 harnesses for him growing, a bed, lead, collar, tags, toothbrush & toothpaste, a puzzle feeder & a crate. The crate was very good value as it's large and comes with a divider for when he's still small & was half price at £35.99. Sure we have other things too which I've forgotten . Think we only need to buy his food now but will have to ask the breeder what he's been weaned onto
