Hi my 7 year old Labrador has been newly diagnosed with retinal atrophy (blindness) one week ago.
Two days ago , my lab took a seizure, witnessed for about 2mins, took 20 mins to return back to normal. Took him to the vets the following day, blood work was done & results are all normal. Vet was querying whether an MRl would be worthwhile doing.
    Anybody ever came across this?
    Thanks
    Amy

Hi Amy, and welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry to hear that your dog has been diagnosed with PRA. Fortunately, many dogs cope very well with blindness but it is horrid for you to then have the added worry of a seizure. Seizures are not all that uncommon and sometimes a dog will have one seizure and then never have another. You did the right thing taking your dog to the vet and I hope it never happens again. But if it does, do go back to your vet as a tendency to regular seizures can often be controlled with medication. Let us know how he gets on with the MRI - hope things improve for you
