Help! My puppy who is 26 weeks is still biting. Granted, she does not bite as bad as she used too. But, she still bites. I still have not bonded with her like I wish we had. Part of it is she does not even allow us to pet her. She bites us when we try to pet her. Will she ever be loving?

It sounds as if she could be sensitive to touch, or at leadt doesn't like being touched and is biting to tell you to leave her alone. Best advice is arrange a 121 session with a qualified, positive reinforcement behaviourist who can assess and compile a behaviour modification plan. This behaviour is not something that can be advised or resolved on a public forum

It is not just when we pet her. It is more when we are minding our business. She will just come up and start biting our toes, ankles, or hands. Is this common for a 6 month old puppy?

I am having the same problem. Luna is almost 8 months old and is biting. It seems like there is no reason why so we don’t understand it.

You could try redirecting her to biting a toy to chew.

Our puppy is 7 months, perfect with everyone except my husband. As soon as pup sees him, he walks up to him, nudges his nose into hubbys leg, circles him, and then he starts to do light bites with his front teeth. He lightly bites his clothing and as soon as my hubby protects himself, ie moves his arms about / turns or tries to push pup away, it just makes pup worse and he starts to up the anti and stands on his back legs and bites more. There is no stopping pup unless I get some food (not ideal I know) and although it sounds harmless... it looks quite alarming. I tell my hubby not to move/shout/talk etc but he’s tried the lot and nothing works.

Mentioned it to dietitian, who acted like she’d never heard of this before. Strange!? She gave us clicker training papers, and said she will refer him/us to a behavioural trainer but so far we haven’t heard anything. It’s getting us both down. I’m the only one who can be round him and I’m exhausted. I’m home 24/7 with pup and it would be nice to have a break.

Some say it’s play, some say it’s dominance, even frustration - who knows but it’s got to stop. I’ve noticed if my hubby gives any type of order ie. ‘off the work top’ or ‘leave’ pup turns on him straight away. Other times, my hubby will have his back to him minding his own business, pup enters the room, walks straight up to him and calmly starts to sniff/nibble his clothing and then the carry on begins. So it can be out the blue or from an order pup doesn’t like from him.

If anyone can relate to this, please let us know and if there are any tips in how to handle this we’d both be so grateful for some advice. Cheer & thanks...

Some dogs are just not affectionate in that way, and I think puppies and young dogs don't really understand humans trying to interact in that way. My Cassie does not like having her head or ears stroked, she's 2 and a half now. The best stroking for her is along her back or a good scratch on the chest, but that's it. I'm fine with it, as I don't really like dogs that constantly seek physical attention, but more and more as she grows up she will lie just close enough to me so that she on my foot or leaning against my leg, which absolutely love :) Even just the other day outside, watching the ducks on the lake and the fish jumping, just quite relaxed sharing it with me! Agree with @Jojo83, these can be difficult to advise/solve over this Forum.
I do think that sometimes we have to earn the bond --- help and guide them growing up in a human world, do things with them that means we share experience makes you feel closer :)
I have experienced lots of the jumping and nipping type behavior with Cassie, I would say up to 18 months, but you know, it's a bit like childbirth, I know it happened but I can barely remember it. It will stop.
