Good to hear that hydro was a success @labradorlover :) . My girl was diagnosed with ED at 7/8 months of age and operated on the next week. It's all been about management since (she's 4 now) to keep her joints as healthy as possible - arthritis is always hovering though. We used to just swim in a hydro pool but changed centres a couple of months ago and now use a water treadmill which has had a big impact on gait and leg extension :)
Enjoy the hydro and your holiday

Max used the treadmill hydro when he was first diagnosed with arthritis but didn't enjoy it as much although it was beneficial for him but enjoys the freedom of the pool more. For him its more about enjoyment and exercise to hopefully keep some weight off him as he is rather portly!!

    thanks for your support

Hello all - just an update.

We went to Hereford with Max on 31 August for a week and had a wonderful week there - weather good and Max was excited to be there. We are still going for regular (twice weekly) hydrotherapy for his DMD and he is doing really well. Lisa tells me his hind legs are much stronger and he puts more weight on them when resting on the ramp to the pool. He'll be 13 in November so while he's enjoying hydro will continue with it. I do realise that eventually things will fail for him but while I can will do as much as I can for him.

    Take care,

    Labrador Lover
