Lincoln was having his morning crazy mode. I was trying to distract him with toys. I bent down to get one and he lunged up and nearly bit my face.I pushed him away and told him bad. I hope I haven't ruined him. I feel so bad I'm nearly crying.

Don't worry about it. We all make mistakes. He will be fine. Be kind to yourself.

Oh, heavens, if I could count the number of times I snapped at Pongo it would be in the dozens! Be nice to yourself - you are only human.
It might even be good as a one-off - he'll have learned what silly fragile things we hoomans are, and that he hurt you. That's not a bad thing to learn, and it is part of the "yelp and ignore" approach to crocopups, so I'm quite sure you've done no harm.

You're a lovely labrador-mum. He is a lucky boy. Go give him a cuddle.

You haven't ruined him :) It's great that you are thinking about how you react to him and working hard on being the person you want to be for him.

I've also snapped at Chewie when really badly sleep deprived, then felt bad and had a cry. We are both okay!

As others have said, look after yourself as well and don't put pressure yourself to be the perfect dog-parent because there's no such thing.

@Jade, please don't feel bad, you're a lovely mum to Lincoln, it's obvious from reading your posts and the questions you ask which only want the best for him.

I've shouted at my girl too, I don't feel good about it either but I know I'm pretty much a good lab mum most of the time!

Hey! Don't we all sometimes snap at those we love best, whoever they are? You'll both get over it, really! Don't beat yourself up. Dogs are, if anything, more loving and forgiving than us mere humans. I always think we have much to learn from them.:inlove:

He’ll be fine. I’ve done exactly the same with mine when I’ve been tired. It’s clear that you love Lincoln and you’re doing your best for him. Try not to worry.
