My 9 week old chocolate lab, Sadie, seems to get the hiccups a lot just randomly. When she wakes up, when we’re outside in the yard, when she’s just laying in her bed chewing a toy. I’d get it if it was after wolfing down food, but it seems like they come on for no reason. Normal?

I had to look this up too. It is normal for puppies to get the hiccups frequently, especially when they are excited or wake up from naps or have just eaten- so quite a lot! As long as the episodes settle down in a reasonable time frame there's no need to worry. They also become less frequent with age.

Yep, Jax used to randomly get the hiccups every now and then when he was younger.

Yes, one of mine was always hiccupping but eventually grew out of it.

Our pup used to get hiccups a lot too, she almost 5 months old now and they're much less frequent now.

Same as ours, she used to get them very often but calmed down by 5 months.
