What wonderful noses our labs have! I lost a dummy yesterday morning on the common (it fell out of my pocket). This morning, about 0.5 miles away from where I lost it, Charlie legged it across an open space, dived into a load of brambles, and emerged triumphantly carrying his dummy! No doubt another dog had a good play with it in the meantime. A good wash and as good as new...
Re: What a nose... Must be a whole different experience to have a doggie nose...'seeing' the world as smells. Incredible. And good boy, Charlie!!!!!!!!
Re: What a nose... Amazing Charlie . My Scout has an awesome nose too, that's why I have taken up tracking with him, he loves to ''go find'' things and can track food, people and other objects and it makes him nice and tired too so he is happy, contented dog
Re: What a nose... Wow Charlie that is what I call a 'memory retrieve' I think ???. Now my Charlie has a great nose that takes him FAR and WIDE :
Re: What a nose... I've read about some "k9 noseworks" classes - you start with finding treats in boxes and work up to finding scents (like cloves and stuff) in 3 cars - I'm hoping to take Charlie - sounds like fun! How amazing these noses are - must be a joy to use them if you have them!
