as promised my lad mark as gone to the dog rescue, he as just sent me a photo message, black lab in 4 and a 1/2 ,omg i hope he don't get any bright ideas :'(
Re: oh my word mark as just rang me, he cant do the walking, .....he said if i take this lab out its coming home with me, also a 4 month old beadle, a 2 year old mastiff cross,. oh my lord he wants to bring them all home, said loads of pups in :'( so sad
Re: oh my word Its heartbreaking I know Lynne, but please be strong , Mark too even though its hard . We went to the rescue where Mills came from last week , they had five JRT`s and a Lab , took all my resolve to walk away :'(
Re: oh my word So many needing homes....I would love another but Poppy is quite hard to handle sometimes maybe when she has calmed down a bit who knows Never a good idea to visit rescue centres maybe to help out but not too view...I would have lots if I could!!
Re: oh my word his intention was to help out, he is on his way home, he cant do it ......someone looked at the lab, he thinks they was having it he said it was pulling, jumping very giddy, :'(
Re: oh my word Lovely thought...if I had time I would like to volunteer at a rescue but then again it would be so hard to leave without any...
Re: oh my word Ah Lynne I'm just seeing this now,I'm sorry it was a tough visit......the people that work and volunteer there are amazing and must have a lot of resolve.makes me so sad about the lab.....I bet he is a lovely dog just maybe been with an owner that couldn't give him the time he needed.Just having Dexter and talking on the forum has shown me how wrong it can go with these lovey dogs if they aren't bred carefully or given training..... There is a dog rescue place called K9 in Dubai,my friend used to volunteer as a walker....I could never go with her,I do donate though and go to their book sales and any food I've had left over when I was trying to get Dexters diet right was donated to them,it's not much but it's support I can do without breaking my heart over the dogs that are there :'(
Re: oh my word mark as been traumatised over the experience , we will still try and donate what we can for them, he cant do the walking it hurt him to much, at least he tried
Re: oh my word I can understand how he feels I'd want to bring them home. When I went with my cousin to the rescue centre to get Harry I spotted him pointed him out to her so we asked to see him. She kept saying lots of responsibility, should she do it etc. All I was thinking was he's not going back in there, now he's out he's coming home. He did and he's a lovely well behaved dog why anybody abandoned him I do not know he's no trouble.
Re: oh my word i am so pleased harry got a forever loving home, well done to you it was his first day of volunteering, he just went to pieces ???
