We have a two year old female with increased panting and whining at times. Over the past two months, she was snake bitten and struck by a vehicle. Both incidents, she was taken to the vet and meds given and recovered. In the past three days, she has begun to pant and whine more with behaviour changes. Back today to the vet and we are awaiting lab results. Any ideas?
Hi Wes, Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear she's had so many accidents I hope the vet comes back with some answers and a solution soon. Let us know how she gets along!
Poor girl! What a trauma she has been through... Panting and whining is usually a sign of discomfort or pain, I am sure you know that though . Bitches after a season can also look a bit similar, just a thought, I say this because my bitch is going through a phantom pregnancy right now, and typically will whine and pant for a couple of days. Hope your girl is OK and you get it sorted.
Panting and whining are both signs of pain, so I'd say it sounds like she could be in pain in some way and I really hope your vet can persevere to find out what the cause is
As of now, Liza is some better. Labs came back with a few elevated results. Amylase and WBC being two of them, Doxycycline given for four doses so far. There is some life back in her today. We are so thankful and appreciative of all of your responses. No whining and panting today.
