I remember my last Lab Tess was a lunatic and didnt calm down until she was about 4 ::) But just wondering, when do you stop referring to your dogs as pups ? Sam is almost 14 months old now so I guess he is classed as an adult dog ?

Lady is 3 on 3rd September and this morning when she was waiting patiently for me to get my gear on to take her for a walk she sat down next to me in that way that new puppies sit. A little longer yet to fully grwon up I think.

I reckon on one year per leg and a bit extra for the tail before they're 'sensible'! But then again does a labrador ever really grow up? Hebe is five and Maia is twelve but yesterday morning they were playing puppy 'big teeth' with a repeat chorus of lunatic racing for well over an hour, very enjoyable but I was in the office... Thank goodness the phone didn't ring.

Rusty is 20 months and I refer to him as my teenager ;D thinks he's a grown up, acts like a puppy often and is occasionally rebelling!

I would class Sam as a puppy still. It takes a lab at least 18 months to grow up, and another six on top of that before they are truly adult. :D

:) :) I remember when my dear Tess was about ten years old , we had snow for the first time in ages here , significant ammounts too . I took her and Lily to the fields and Tess set off like a rocket , throwing herself around in it like a puppy , she looked quite joyful and certainly nothing like her age , looking back, she could have very silly moments right up until she became poorly , oh I do love Labs :)
