I am due to buy Otis's flea and worm treatments. I have a couple of questions to put out there, my vet seems to overcharge for meds, and I was wondering if it's cheaper to get the treatments from Amazon or Pets at Home ? Also it's awhile since I bought them, should I be getting drontal milbemax Advocate or frontline ? What is the best and most effective , and most reasonably priced ! Thanks everyone, Maggie
What drugs you use depends on what you need cover for, and a local vet is best placed to advise. I use Advantix and Advocate once a month (separated by a fortnight) and Drontal once a quarter. You can usually buy the drugs a lot cheaper online. Depending where you are, you’ll probably need a prescription from your vet to do so. They will charge for this, but it shouldn’t be more than a few pounds.
Local vets will definitely advise which is the best treatment based on what is most prevalent in your area Maggie. Last time I got a private prescription for Bravecto it cost me £10.50. It still worked out cheaper for me at the time to pay this and buy the drug on line. I think a lot of vets have monthly plans that cover all the treatments and vaccines as well as annual check up. Ours also offers a reduced fee for other consultations too. I definitely think it's worth considering if your vet offers it.
Well, it all depends upon the drugs that you provide to your fleas. One advice to controls flea and worm treatment that it can help you to protect your pets against serious health complications in the long-term. But, I would suggest you that before you prescribe any drug to your dog, make sure to consult veterinary or any professional flea exterminator. You can search for companies in the United States who not only eliminate fleas and worms from your home but also will give you proper advice regarding your dog issue.
