    Hi all,

I'm about to buy a yellow labrador pup from a respected breeder. I plan to visit the breeder next week. What I noticed on the photo's and video's that the breeder send, is that all puppies have large tear stains under there eyes. I asked what why it is and the breeder told me that it will go away when they get older.

Does anyone have experience with that? Is it normal for puppies to have that? The breeder said that it is also because the hair is almost white and that with darker colors you don't notice it.

    Help is appreciated!

Do you have a photo of this you can attach to the post?

No, it's not normal for puppies to have tear stains like this. It might be nothing - perhaps their bedding, if it is straw or sawdust, has irritated their eyes. On the other hand, it could be a sign of something like entropion - where the eyelid grows eyelashes towards the eyeball, irritating the eye when the pup blinks and causing the eye to water...

    If in doubt, steer clear....
