Hey all, brand new to the forum. Have a lab/GSD cross and just picked up a new one year old purebred chokers lab male. Haven't worked much with dogs like this so on here to get some more info!

A very warm welcome to the forum! How are you getting along with your new pup? I have a real soft spot for German Shepherds and their mixes, would love to see a picture if you fancy uploading one as an avatar :)

If I can figure out how I definitely will! That was also supposed to be chocolate not chokers. Autocorrect got me. The new pup is doing decent, needs to learn a lot of manners with people and other dogs but is a sweetheart for sure. Still a puppy but doesn't seem very pushy with other dogs, just doesn't know how to interact real well yet.

Welcome! Your chocolate Lab sounds irresistible!

If you look to the top right hand corner of the screen, underneath the soggy dogs on the beach, you'll see your user name on the dark blue menu bar. Click on it, and it'll take you to your account settings, where you can also add a profile photo :)

Given most Labradors' natural over-enthusiasm it's great that he's not too pushy, and at this age he'll definitely still be learning how to interact :) What does your older dog think of the new addition?

Thank you! It's being a pest because I'm on my phone but I got of cropped version of my female up. Better than a sideways picture or it refusing to upload I guess! She's good at making dorky faces in photos.

She's torn between wanting to play and not sure of what to do with him. He's definitely over excitable but not a big mouth licker like the female labs I've been around have been. He is a bit in her space but respects the other dog in the house who has told him off for getting up in her space and sniffing her lady parts. He's definitely a young male! My female is exceedingly tolerant with other dogs but usually does let them know if they push too far. She hasn't with him though which is interesting. (Not as in a dog fight or attack them. Just a don't do that and we can go back to playing.)
