I have a 9 year old lab. She tore her ccl last March. At the time she was 102lbs the vet put her on purina om and she was able to drop. Her weight to 86lbs by September. She was close to her target weight so I tried to just put her back on her Merrick food in the beginning of November. 6 weeks later she is already back up to 92lbs. I moved and had to change vets and now this one is recommending royal canin satiety dry food. Anyone have any experience with this food? Any other thoughts on the 2 or any. Other food to get her back to the low 80's would be great. Thanks in advance

A very warm welcome to the forum :)

Sorry to hear your Lab was injured, that must have been tough.

Normally I'd say quantities are everything, and if you cut down with the amount of the new brand then you probably will find sticking with it works fine. Some brands just require smaller feeds than others due to fillers etc. But as your vet has been involved, it might be worth a chat with her before you change things again?

You can find lots of information on helping your Lab to lose weight in this article on the main site too.

Let us know how you get along!
